Wasa produces 170m litres surplus water daily

Currently, Dhaka WASA has a daily surplus of 170 million litres of water, LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam told the Parliament on Thursday. The Dhaka WASA has achieved a daily production capacity of 2.42 billion litres of water against the city dwellers’ demand of 2.25 billion liters water, he said this while replying to a starred question of SM Abul Kalam Azad (Dhaka-17). Meanwhile, answering another starred question of Rezaul Haque Chowdhury (Kushtia-1), the LGRD Minister said the Public Health Engineering Department under the Local Government Division runs six projects for ensuring supply of safe drinking water in 143 municipalities, according to a news agency.
