WB report on investment climate launched

CHITTAGONG, Nov 03: Power crisis, political unrest and lack of good governance are the main barriers to the development of Bangladesh.
Co-writer of the report on Second Investment Climate Assessment on Bangladesh and Senior Financial Economist on South Asian Economic and Private Sector Affairs of World Bank Tatiana Nenova said this while addressing as the keynote speaker at a discussion jointly arranged by the World Bank (WB) and Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) on the occasion of the publication of the report at the chamber auditorium Sunday.
For attracting the flow of foreign investment,Tatiana underscored the need for ensuring infrastructural development, political stability, decentralisation in administration and balancing the duty structure of different products.
Presided over by the CCCI President Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, the discussion was attended, among others, by the CCCI Vice President Mahbub Alam, directors Syed Jamal Ahmad, Mahfuzul Hoque Shah, Zahirul Islam and Sazzadullah.
