WB to give $100m credit for secondary education eform

The World Bank has agreed to offer US$ 100 million as budgetary support credit to the government next month, enabling the country to pursue its reform agenda in secondary education.
The loan, known as the Education Sector Development Support Credit, will be funnelled to the government coffers just before the announcement of national budget for fiscal 2007-08, a top government official said Wednesday.
"We've just concluded negotiations with the bank on the education sector loan. The WB support will significantly improve the aid delivery, although at the fag end of the current fiscal," Economic Relations Division (ERD) secretary Aminul Islam
