We stand by you, Japan

Our sincere condolences go to the people and government of Japan, in particular to the bereaved families who lost their near and dear ones during this natural calamity of unprecedented magnitude. This is a very difficult time for Japan and her people. The death toll from the devastating earthquake and the resulting tsunami continues to rise and the scale of devastation keeps on piling up. Many are still missing. Aftershock quakes still persist in many places. To add to the misery, a nuclear plant blast on Saturday has sent another wave of profound shock to the Japanese. Japan is gripped by an indescribable tragedy. Some of the earthquake-tsunami hit areas are personally known to me. The Japanese people are resilient, diligent and extremely positive-minded people, who will overcome these appalling catastrophes. Japan is a tested friend of ours. Japan always stands by us through thick and thin. At this time of great disaster, we would like to assure our Japanese friends that our continuous prayers and heartfelt sympathies are with you.
