Weapons recovered from water tank

Police in a drive recovered 11 sharp weapons and three hockey sticks from inside a water tank of a residential hotel at Khasdabir in Sylhet city on Friday night. Being tipped off, a police team conducted a raid at the three-storey building of Hotel Shaheen and recovered the weapons, kept in a sack, from a water tank lying in an abandoned condition around 11:15 pm, said Yeasin, sub-inspector of Ambarkhana Police Station. However, none was arrested in this connection. Wishing anonymity, a staff of the hotel said a group of local goons was chatting on the rooftop of the three-storey building of the hotel and taking drugs there. The weapons might have belonged to them, he said, according to UNB.
