Weekly tea sale sees fair demand

The weekly tea sale started with positive note Tuesday but soon demand weakened and prices declined by a fair margin. As a result, the market experienced fairly heavy withdrawals, said a press release. According to a market report, there was a little more interest from the blenders last week whilst loose tea buyers maintained their support. Better liquoring Dusts met with more demand and were often dearer. The details of the market reports are as follows: CTC LEAF: 13,875 packages and 984 packages of old season on offer met with a fairly good demand and heavy withdrawals. BROKENS: Good liquoring brokens met with a fairly good demand but prices this generally ranged between Tk 168 and Tk 175. Other varieties were easier in line with quality often shedding by Tk 7.0 to Tk 9.0. FANNINGS: There was a better demand for good liquoring Fannings which were slightly easier and those were sold between Tk 165 and Tk 172. There was quite heavy withdrawals in this category. CTG DUST: 1592 packages and 260 packages of old season on offer were met with a slightly improved demand.
