A central leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has threatened to ‘beat up senior BNP leaders’. A status on the Facebook profile of BCL leader Siddiqui Nazmul Alam posted on Wednesday reads that the response to the attack on ruling party MP Chhabi Biswas will come ‘within 3 days’. ‘Will beat up senior BNP leaders like stray dogs’, reads the post by the general secretary of the ruling party’s student front. During a clash between Awami League supporters and BNP activists on Wednesday, ruling party MP from Netrokona-1 constituency Chhabi Biswas was attacked in front of the Dhaka medical College Hospital (DMCH). The attackers set his car on fire and the lawmaker suffered injuries in the head. He is being treated at the DMCH. Awami League and BCL claimed that BNP supporters attacked him, but the oppositrion party denied it, according to a news agency.
