Monday, 29 October 2007

The well-marked low in the south-west and adjoining south-east Bay of Bengal intensified into a depression Sunday evening, Met Office sources said, reports BSS.
Earlier in the morning, it brewed off a low-pressure area at the same place. Later, it intensified into a well-marked low, and turned into a depression hanging over the same area.
The sources said, the depression might move towards north-west.
The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla have been advised to keep hoisted distant cautionary signal number one.
The fishing boats and trawlers in the north Bay and deep sea have been asked to sail towards the coast and proceed cautiously. They have also been warned not to venture into the deep sea.
