West Bengal lose both men\\\'s, women\\\'s matches

The visiting West Bengal Handball team suffered defeats in their bilateral eight-match friendly handball series losing to Bangladesh Police in the Men's and to BJMC in the Women's battles at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city Thursday, reports UNB.
In the day's Men's battle, Bangladesh Police notched a 36-28 goals victory over West Bengal. The winners were dominating the first half by 22-14 goals.
Mahbub and Arif scored eight goals each for Police team while Mohan and Helal raised the tally scoring five goals apiece.
Darshan Bura scored 10 goals and Jasandeep Modgil scored nine goals for the losing side.
In the women's event, BJMC beat the visiting women's side by 24-20 goals. BJMC dominated by 13-9 goals in the first half.
Sahida scored eight goals and Shirina netted five goals for BJMC. Shila Kumari scored five goals for losing side while Khushbu Kumari and Shainaz Khatun netted four goals each.
Earlier, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) earned an exciting 33-30 goals victory over West Bengal Men's team while Bangladesh Ansar and VDP beat West Bengal Women's team by 22-12 goals at the same venue Wednesday.
West Bengal Handball team, ranked 6th in the Indian National Championship, will play the remaining four friendly matches -two for men and two for women - in Chittgaong.
Visiting men's team will play Chittagong District Men's team on May 31 at 4:00 pm and will face BGB on June 1 at 4:00 pm, both at MA Aziz Stadium.
The West Bengal Women's team will play Chittagong District Women's team on May 31 at 2:30 pm.
