Western Marine Ltd gets National Maritime Award '07

CHITTAGONG, Nov 9: Western Marine Shipyard Limited, a local shipbuilding enterprise, has received the National Maritime Award-2007 for its outstanding contribution to the country's shipbuilding industry. Shipping Adviser MA Matin handed over the award to the company's chief naval architect Md Ali Jinnah at a function Tuesday at Mary Anderson, a cruise vessel in Narayangonj, said a press release Friday. The Mercantile Marine Department organised the function on the occasion of the World Maritime Day and introduced the award for the first time to promote the local shipbuilding industry. — BSS
