BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy on Sunday said Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad has changed his party secretary general just to appease the Prime Minister. “Ershad has made Ziauddin Bablu secretary general removing Ruhul Amin Howlader to appease the Prime Minister,” he said. The BNP leader was addressing a discussion meeting organised by Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Pratyagato Probashi Dal at the Jatiya Press Club. On Thursday, Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad made Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu secretary general of the party removing Ruhul Amin Hawlader from the post. Accusing the government of carrying out repressive acts, Gayeshwar said, “We have to apply medicine what the government deserves. And we have to apply it by taking to the streets.” BNP chairperson’s adviser Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, among others, spoke at the programme held with Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Pratyagato Probashi Dal president SM Tofazzel Hossain in the chair, according to a news agency.
