WFP distributes relief among flood-hit people in Chilmari

The World Food Programme (WFP) has distributed huge quantity of high energy biscuits among 1,200 flood affected families of three unions under Chilmari Upazila in Kurigram district. The biscuits were distributed on Friday afternoon as part of distribution of the same among a total of 4,500 flood-hit families of Kurigram in the second phase during the past three days. The WFP distributed 50 packets of high energy biscuits among each of the beneficiary family as per list prepared by RDRS Bangladesh, an NGO, in presence of government officials and local public representatives. Chilmari Upazila chairman Shawkat Ali Sarker inaugurated distribution of the biscuits at a ceremony arranged at Thanahat Samaj Kallyan Sangstha (TSKS) office premises with its Chairman Wazed Ali in the chair, according to a news agency.
