What is WASA doing?
Sunday, 8 May 2011
In Dhaka hundreds of high rise buildings and multistoried flats have been constructed. But there is no coordination of work and planning between WASA and RAJUK. As a result the sufferings of the people due to acute shortage of water know no bounds.
It is reported that most of the owners, developers, contractors of the high rise buildings and multi-storied flats have illegally installed water pump machines, connecting with the main water supply line of WASA, which suck and divert water from the WASA water pipe line to their buildings. This deprives the people of surrounding housesresidences of water.
Would WASA and the authorities concerned kindly look into the matter and stop the pumping out water from WASA pipe line? Punitive measures must be taken such illegal practices.
