Prices of reconditioned car, imported mobile set, seasonal bricks, MS products, gold, junk food items, solar module, spices, panel and cost of education in English medium schools may go up in the fiscal year 2017-18.
On the other hand, prices of agriculture machineries, local ceramic products and battery may go down. Hybrid cars, locally-manufactured motorcycle, locally-assembled or manufactured computer, laptop, tab and cellular phone, air-conditioner, agriculture machineries, local ceramic products and battery, LP gas cylinder with capacity below 5,000 litres, sandstone, soybean meals, glass, plastic and wooden beads, talc, glues, rubber guard rear and leather may see a downward trend in prices due to cut in and rationalising of duty rates.
As per the budget proposal, price of vacuum cleaner, aluminium fittings, tubes and pipes, pipe fittings of copper, and imported ceramic products will also go up.
In the budget proposal, capital machinery benefit in the form of 1.0 per cent import duty has been withdrawn for import of products under 30 HS codes.
With the withdrawal of the facility, imported screw, nut bolts, copper articles, insulators, imported ceramic products, abrasive powder or grain, article of stone, cement, mica, twine, cordage, rope, fishing net for fishing trawler, cloth, grill and netting copper wire, natural stone, unexposed photosensitive plates of agglomerated synthetic or natural diamond, printing plate, articles and accessories of rubber, wooden packing materials, wood and articles of wood may be pricier.
Besides, prices of bamboos, cocoa powder, dry mixed ingredients of food preparations in bulk, oil-cake and solid residues,  cotton seeds, linseed, sunflower seeds, coconut or copra, palm nuts or kernels, poultry feed finished, slate, lysine and its esters, aseptic pack, rolls, sheets and dials, printed for self recording apparatus, natural stone, cloth, grill and netting of copper wire, bars, rods and profiles of aluminium not alloyed, hollow profiles of aluminium alloys, sealed lead acid battery, base stations, transmitting and receiving apparatus, telephonic or telegraphic switching apparatus, modem,  ethernet interface network switch, hub, router, grandmaster clock, modulator, multiplexer, recorded magnetic media, database software, flash memory card, printed circuits, parts of electrical goods, road tractors for semi trailers, nickel bar, rods, profiles and wire, cloth, grill and netting, tungsten wire, recorded magnetic media, flash memory card, artificial teeth and dental fittings, artificial joints, printing plate, wooden packing materials, twine, cordage, rope and cables, jar, pipe fittings of copper, pipes, fittings and aluminium tubes etc will rise.
Prices of some products may go down, which include soybean meals, sandstone, talc, arsenic, silicon dioxide, titanium oxides, radioactive isotopes, cyanogen chloride, ethyl acetate, glues, plastic, wooden and glass beads, natural rubber, vulcanised rubber thread and cord, rubber guard rear, viscose rayon with a twist acceding 120 turns per meter, paper or paper board, alumina liner, stainless steel in ingots, ferro-manganese, ferrosilicon, ferro-silico-manganese, refined copper bar, rods and profiles, parts of table, kitchen or other articles of aluminium, zinc callots, parts of static converter, crude mica and mica rifted into sheets or splitting.
Prices of all essential commodities, including rice, pulses, sugar and edible oil, will remain unchanged, as the tax measure on the products was not revised.
