Wheat cultivation in Joypurhat

The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) has set a target of producing 5,258 tonnes of wheat in Joypurhat district during the current Rabi season. The DAE sources said, a total of 1,724 hectares of land to be brought under wheat cultivation and farmers have started sowing wheat seeds on their lands after harvesting of T-Aman and other crops. AZM Sabbir Ebne Zahan, deputy director of DAE, said the wheat cultivation gained popularity in Joypurhat district because of its easy farming process as well as less labour cost, according to BSS.
