Wheat procurement drive progressing fast in Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT, May 15 (BSS): Wheat procurement drive launched on April 1 is progressing fast in all the five upazilas in the district amid much enthusiasm to farmers.
District Food Control office sources said the government has set a target to procure 563 tonnes of wheat from the district through 6 purchasing centers during the current season.
Of the total, the food department has already purchased 503 tonnes of wheat from the farmers directly. The procurement price of the wheat has been fixed at Taka 27 per kg, said an official of the department.
