Wheat sanctioned for development work in Barisal

BARISAL, Dec 28 (BSS): The government has sanctioned 3,205 tonnes of wheat for repair and development works under food- for-work programme in ten upazilas of the district during this dry season.
According to district relief and rehabilitation office, the sanctioned wheat will be used for implementation of several development schemes in the upazilas of the district.
Of the total, 1,397 tonnes of wheat have been sanctioned under Rural Infrastructure Maintenance (Test-Relief) programme while the rest of wheat under Rural Infrastructure Repair (Food- for-Work) programme.
A total of 130 tonnes of wheat will be spent for the development of five pourasabhas in the district, the source said.
Chairmen of the paurasabhas and union porishads have been preparing the schemes to be implemented in their respective areas.
