Ganajagaran Mancha spokesperson Imran H Sarker has questioned the authority of a group of bloggers who removed him, by holding a press briefing, from his post. “Who are they to disown me? I’m the founder of BOAN,” he said on Saturday evening within an hour of a group of bloggers under the banner of Bangladesh Online Blogger and Activist Network (BOAN) announced the removal of Sarker from the BOAN at a press briefing at Dhaka Reporters Unity at Segun Bagicha in the city. Imran was reacting before journalists at the Sangskriti Bikash Kendra (Centre for Cultural Development) in the city’s Paribagh. He said that he was distributing forms and doing registration there to induct new members into BOAN. Earlier, a section of the BOAN members at a press briefing announced the removal of Sarker from the post of Mancha spokesperson claiming that he was working ‘for the sake of different vested interest groups’, according to bdnews24.com.
