Wholesalers to start selling raw hides to tanners from Sunday

The wholesalers have planned to start selling raw hides to tanners within a couple of days, ending the prevailing row over fixation of prices between the tanners and traders.
They said they would adopt open market prices this year to sell raw hides of the sacrificial animals.
"We've decided to sell raw hides to the tanners in line with the open market prices from next Sunday and we're also hopeful of getting expected prices this year," president of Bangladesh Hide and Skin Merchant Association Aftab Khan said.
He confirmed that the common price fixation will not be happening this time considering the global volatile market and small traders will get fair price of their collected hides.
"So, there is nothing to be worried. I think such trading will be starting in a full swing from the next week as many small traders have agreed to accept the free market prices," he said.
"The row will be settled very soon as all the three concerned bodies agreed to purchase raw hides on the basis of negotiation," Aftab Khan said.
According to the process, small traders will collect raw hides from the country's remote areas after negotiation with the tanners over its prices.
