Why ignore the good things?

Friday, 20 June 2008

AS the citizens of Bangladesh, we often feel frustrated with the disturbances that occur. Corruption, law and order, and moral degradation mainly contribute to such feelings.

But we also forget to see the good things happening in our country which can gear up our mood.

Recently, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) predicted Bangladesh would achieve a double digit economic growth in 12 years. Bangladesh would be a middle-income country by then, it predicted. Indeed, it can happen for many reasons. Our per capita income increased to almost $600 from $523 in a year due to increased remittance of Bangladeshi workers abroad. Besides, our managerial skills in businesses and services have also improved significantly. Our progress in IT is reckoned by many countries.

So we need to see all these goods things together and work for a better Bangladesh.
