Why prices go up during Ramadan?

Monday, 7 September 2009

BANGLADESH has a huge population, compared to its geographical size. Many of them do hardly take greater national interest into consideration. They tend to think more about their pocket; how to fill it. The businessmen, middlemen, wholesalers and retailers have no 'patriotism'. On the other hand, political leaders control business by employing terrorists. The following are the main points about why the prices go up:
The businessmen are extra-greedy to earn profit; the political leaders control the businessmen by adopting different techniques; businessmen need to pay large 'amounts' of 'chanda'; lack of market knowledge on the part of the customer; no patriotism in the mind of the people of the country; too much corruption in the administration; powerful black money destroys the supply-chain in the market; no effective assistance by any government body in matters of controlling market price; no strong government presence in the market due to corruption; and, buyers are callous about prices and those among them who have 'illegal earnings', help to increase the price of the product.
