West Indies beat England by 7 wickets in a warm-up match of the ICC World Twenty20 at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah Tuesday, reports UNB.
Replying to England's 131, West Indies easily reached their target of 132 runs in 16.1 overs for the loss of three wickets with experienced batsman Chris Gayle scoring not out 58 runs off 38 balls that featured six fours and two sixes.
In the opening stand, Chris Gayle and Dwayne Smith contributed 78 runs in 8.3 overs before Smith was caught by Dernbach off a James Tredwell delivery.
Dwayne Smith made 36 runs off 30 balls with four fours and two sixes while number five batsman Lendl Simmons belted 15 runs off 5 balls with two fours and a six.
Stephen Parry, Ravi Bopara and James Tredwell took one wicket each for 15, 20, and 23 runs respectively.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, England scored 131 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs with skipper Eoin Morgan making unbeaten 43 runs off 42 balls that included four fours and a six.
Number three batsman Moeen Ali scored 22 runs off 16 balls with four fours, Ravi Bopara added 15 runs off 14 balls with two fours, opener Michael Lumb made 14 runs off 6 balls with three fours while number five batsman Jos Buttler also made 14 runs off 20 balls with a four.
Krishmar Santokie claimed 3 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs, Sheldon Cottrell grabbed two wickets for 23 runs while Andre Russell and Samuel Badree took one wicket each for 16 and 19 runs respectively.
