Holders West Indies take on Sri Lanka in the first semifinal of the T20 World Cup today (Thursday) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur in the city, reports BSS.
State-owned Bangladesh Television and the private satellite channel Gazi TV will telecast the match live that will kick off at 7 pm.
Earlier, West Indies put up an excellent display on the way to the semifinal as they snatched a remarkable victory crushing Pakistan by 84 runs while Sri Lanka ensured their last four berth eliminating New Zealand by 59 runs.
Sri Lanka emerged group 1 champions in the tournament securing six points from four matches while West Indies finished group-2 runners-up also with six points playing the same number of matches.
In the group phase matches, Sri Lanka beat South Africa by five runs, the Netherlands by nine wickets, outplayed New Zealand by 59 runs and lost to England by six wickets.
