Windies beat the Tigers as Tanzid's innings goes in vain

Bangladesh Opener Tanzid Hasan's one man show of a gritty 89 of 62 balls went in vain on Friday as the Windies beat the Tigers by five wickets with 19 balls remaining in the third T20 international in Chattogram.
Saif Hassan was the only other player who reached a double figure of 23 facing 22 balls to 151, showing the struggle in Bangladesh's batting department at the the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium.
Windies Skipper Roston Chase and batter Ackeem Wayne Jarrell Auguste scored half centuries before their wickets were taken by Rishad Hossain.
Pacer Jason Holder took two wickets and the crucial catch of Tanzid, off the ball of Romario Shepard. Shepard took three wickets, letting 36 runs come from his four overs, the highest of any Windies bowlers.
The home side replaced Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Tanzim Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman with Shoriful Islam, Mahedi Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon and Nurul Hasan.
Meanwhile, West Indies rested Sherfane Rutherford, Jayden Seales, and ODI and T20I captain Shai Hope, picking Amir Jangoo, Gudakesh Motie and Ackeem Auguste for the last game on the tour.
The visitors won the first two matches by 16 and 14 runs respectively in Chattogram.
With the win at the last T20I, the Windies get their sweet revenge for being whitewashed to the Tigers at their own den in 2024.
