Wednesday, 23 March 2011

West Indies skipper Darren Sammy on Tuesday said his team are standing in the same position as all other teams in the quarter-final of the cricket World Cup, reports UNB. "This is the ground where we executed our plans perfectly. So it's good to be back here. We feel love by the people. So we are ready for tomorrow," said Sammy. Addressing a pre-match press conference ahead of the 1st quarterfinal at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today (Tuesday), the West Indies skipper Darren Sammy said their opening batsman Gayle and pacer Kemar Roach participated in practice Tuesday. "Obviously everybody is in a good spirit. Ravi had an excellent start first. So obviously we will come up with the best combination to go out there and win us the quarter-final." Asked about the last match the West Indies skipper said, "Yeah, we just crumbled, we lost our way, and like I said in the post match, it's something we should do away and do away quickly." About coming back to Bangladesh, Sammy said: "Yeah, as I said earlier, since we are back here we feel love by the people. We obviously know it's unfortunate what happened but we've put that behind us. "We know Bangladeshi people are loving people they support the cricket and no doubt tomorrow it will be a very exciting game. Hopefully, West Indies will come out on the victorious end of things."
