Students of the city's Home Economics College, Azimpur, once again started boycotting classes and examinations Tuesday protesting an increase of Tk 505 in their session fee.
The agitating students also staged demonstration on the campus at noon demanding realisation of their various demands including withdrawal of the increased session charge and inclusion of their college as a separate faculty to Dhaka University (DU).
"We haven't sat for any class or examination today protesting the unreasonable fee hike. We won't attend any class or examination until our demands are met", Textiles and Clothing Department student Nasrin Jahan told reporters Tuesday.
When contacted, college Principal Laila Anjumand Banu told the FE that they had informed the education ministry of the agitation of students against the increased session fee.
"We can do nothing about the students' demand after we have got directive from the education ministry in this connection, as the fee was increased according to a government notification," she said.
The disgruntled students put a five-hour barrier on the Azimpur- New Market Road Sunday to drum up support for their demands.
