Withdrawal of Rangamati Armed Police HQs protested

RANGAMATI, July 15 (UNB): Withdrawal of the 7th Armed Police Battalion (APBN) headquarters at Barbunia in Longdu Upazila started Wednesday amid vehement protest from the local people.
The first batch of about 800 APBN members reached Rangamati truck terminal ghat leaving the HQs with luggage in the morning, sources said.
Earlier, fearing insecurity, locals made requests several times to keep the HQs in the upazila but the authorities remained firm to their decision without paying heed to them.
