Woman commits suicide in Magura

MAGURA, Feb 28: A mother committed suicide Saturday night at village Bakhra of Sreepur Upazila under Magura district. The deceased was identified as Mina Khatun(28). Mina Khantun's family sources informed the FE that she was married to Asaduzzaman, son of Arab Ali 7 years ago. From the very beginning the members of Mina's in-laws house used to torture her for dowry. On Saturday morning the mother-in-law and sister-in-law of Mina beat her severely. In frustration Mina took insecticide and also poured some into her daughter's mouth. Mina and her four-year old daughter Mahanaz were admitted to the Magura Sadar Hospital. Later Mina died at midnight. Mahanaz is also in critical condition.
