Woman dies in city road crash

A woman was killed in a road accident at Badda in the capital on Saturday.
The deceased, identified as Rizia Begum (55), was crushed by a speeding covered van when she was crossing the road to a nearby bus stoppage to go back her village home at Gangni in Khushtia after visiting her son at Badda.
The incident occurred around 6:00 am in front of Fuji Tower in the area. She was accompanied by her son Abdul Mannan.
After the incident Mannan and local people rushed her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the attending doctor declared her dead around 7:00 am.
Police seized the covered van and is looking for the driver. A case has been filed with the police station concerned, according to DMCH and police station sources.
