Woman gagged to death, youth slaughtered

FARIDPUR, Dec 13 (UNB): A woman was strangled to death after rape and a youth was hacked to death in separate incidents in the district on Monday and Tuesday. Azizul, 20, son of Abdul Owhab, a resident of suburban Damrakandi area, was attacked and hacked to death by a gang of criminals and the body was dumped in a pond beside local fisheries office in the area early Tuesday. Family sources suspected neighbour Hafizur Rahman and his associates might have slaughtered him and dumped the body in the pond over a monetary dispute. In separate incident, unidentified miscreant gang raped a woman, aged about 25, and strangled her to death at Maligram in Bhanga sometimes between Monday and early Tuesday.
