Woman garment worker injured in acid attack

CHITTAGONG, Sept 6 (UNB): A female garment worker received serious burn injuries in an acid attack allegedly by her ex-husband at Pahartoli in the city Sunday.
The victim was identified as Nasima Akhter (28), a worker of Arrow Jeans ltd.
Witnesses said when Nasima was going to her work place at about 8:25 am her ex-husband Ruhul Amin threw acid on her, leaving her seriously injured. She was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Family sources said Nasima divorced her husband Ruhul Amin two days back as he was a drug addict. He threw acid on her to take revenge, they added.
