Woman killed, four injured in city road crash

A woman was killed and four other people were injured while a covered van hit them in the city’s Shonir Akhra area on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as Nasrin Chowdhury Neha, 21, daughter of M Delwar Hossain. Sub-Inspector (SI) Ranjit Saha of Jatrabari Police Station said Nasrin and some others were crossing the road from eastern side of the Shonir Akhra Bridge at 9.30pm. Suddenly, a covered van hit them. Nasrin Chowdhury died on the spot and four others received critical injuries, said the police official. The injured were rushed to different hospitals in the city, according to UNB.
