Woman killed in launch after rape: Body found in Sadarghat

Unknown miscreants killed a woman following rape in a moving launch at sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Police recovered the body of the unidentified woman from the river craft in Sadarghat Launch Terminal in the city on Thursday. Police said ‘MV Parabat-10’, a launch from Barisal, reached the Sadarghat Launch Terminal around 8:00am. While getting down from the launch, some passengers saw the woman’s body lying in a staff cabin and informed police. Later, law enforces recovered the body. Mafizur Rahman, a sub-inspector of Keraniganj Police Station, said that unknown miscreants might have raped the woman and then killed her. Echoing him, the launch passengers, who arrived from Barisal, suspected that the woman was raped in the cabin and then killed by miscreants, according to a news agency.
