Woman killed in road accident in front of JU

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Aug 15 (BSS): A 35-year-old unidentified woman was killed and ten others were injured in a road accident in front of the Prantik gate of Jahangirnagar University Friday.
Quoting eyewitnesses, police said the accident occurred when a bus of Janasheba Paribahan moving towards Manikganj overturned after hitting a roadside tree as the driver lost control over the steering at about 2.30 pm, leaving one person dead on the spot and 10 others injured.
The injured were admitted to Gano Swasthya Hospital and Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar.
Sheikh Badrul Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ashulia thana, said they recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
However, the driver of the bus managed to flee, the OC added.
