Woman kills herself, husband attempts suicide

BENAPOLE, Apr 26 (UNB): A woman allegedly killed herself and her husband made an attempt to commit suicide following a family feud at Bahadur village in Sadar upazila of Jessore district on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Amena Khatun,25, wife of Rasel Hossain, a resident of the village.
Witnesses said Amena hanged herself from the ceiling of a room with a scarf at about 10:00 pm after her husband Rasel took poison following a brawl between themselves.
Hearing groans from the house of Rasel, other family members rushed in and took them to Jessore Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared Amena dead.
Later, with Rasel's condition deteriorating, he was shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Abdul Majid, father of Rasel, said the reason behind the incident could not be known.
