Woman murdered in city

Some miscreants have strangulated a woman to death in her house at Mirpur in Dhaka. The assailants also looted valuables from her house at Mirpur-2. The dead is Hosne Ara, 65. The murder took place sometime during Monday evening, said Mirpur Police SI Imanul Hossain. ‘We believe she has been strangled to death.’ Imanul said. Her eldest son ‘Delwar’ discovered her body around 10pm when he broke into the house after finding it locked from outside. He broke down after seeing the body while neighbours called the police. Delwar told police Tk 200,000 was missing from his closet and the whole house has been turned upside down. Hosne Ara’s husband Fazlur Rahman passed away a long time ago and she was living with Delwar in the house, according to a news agency.
