Woman, son among 3 electrocuted in 2 dists

In separate incidents, three people, including a woman and her son, were electrocuted in Pabna and Rajshahi districts on Thursday and Friday. In Pabna, the woman and her son died from electrocution at Saragopalpur village on the outskirts of the district town on Thursday. The dead are Lily Khatun, 55, wife of Abdus Sattar, and her son Ramzan, 35, a mason by profession and residents of Saragopalpur village. Locals said annoyed with his parents over a matter, Ramzan started vandalising the house in the morning. At one stage, he came in contact with a snapped electric wire. When Lily Begum came to her son’s rescue, she also met the same fate. They were rushed to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared the dead. In Rajshahi, a young man was electrocuted at Anupampur village under Charghat Upazila on Friday morning. The dead is Nasim Uddin, 25, son of Abdur Razzaque of the village, according to UNB.
