Woman succumbs to her burns

A septuagenarian woman, burnt in a fire at Damurhuda upazila on Sunday night, succumbed to her injuries at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital on Monday. The dead is Rokeya Begum, 74, wife of Mafizur Rahman of Chandipur village. Family sources said a fire broke out at the house of Mafizur at Chandipur village around 9pm on Sunday. The fire, originated from a mosquito coil, left Rokeya badly burnt. Hearing her cry for help, locals rescued Rokeya and rushed her to the Sadar Hospital where she succumbed at about 1 am today, according to a news agency.
