Women, children rescued in border

JHENIDAH, Oct 26: Villagers rescued two children and two women from Baghadanga frontier under Moheshpur upazila in Jhenidah in the early hours of Tuesday. They handed over them to Moheshpur BDR camp.
At the time the villagers caught the traffickers Anwar Hossain, son of Abu Bakar of Farmpara area under Chuadanga district, and Takim Roy, son of Bhola Nath of Baluhor Ramchandrapur village under Kotchandpur upazila in Jhenidah. Villagers also beat up them and handed them over to the BDR camp.
The victims are Uzila Khatun, wife of Shaker Ali of Farmpara area under Chuadanga district, her son Sadhin (4), Nazma Khatun and her son Monir (4).
On October 21 Anwar Hossain pushed them to Indian territory through Moheshpur-Baghadanga frontier and Indian Silbaria frontier. They were sold at Tk 20,000 only to a group of brokers, Nazma told the Nayek. An Indian broker confined them at Chandpur village near Silbaria frontier in India.
On Tuesday morning Khosahlpur villagers hearing the screams of women and children. They rushed to the spot caught two traffickers red handed and handed them over to BDR camp.
