Women entrepreneurs get support from SMEF

SME Foundation has allocated another Tk 50 million for women entreprenuers of productive and service sector with a view to facilitating their business expansion.
From the amount women entrepreneurs will be able to get loan at 9.0 per cent rate of interest without any collateral. The loan will be disbursed through Mutual Trust Bank Ltd.
A bilateral deal was signed between SME Foundation and Mutual Trust Bank Ltd in the city on Sunday, said a press release. SME Foundation Managing Director Syed Ihsanul Karim and Mutual Trust Bank Ltd Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Anis A Khan signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Mutual Trust Bank Ltd Deputy Managing Director Syed Rafiqul Hoque, SME Foundation General Manager SM Shaheen Anwar and a number of officials of both the organisations were present, among others, at the deal signing ceremony.
SME Foundation has been providing collateral-free loan to small entrepreneurs of different areas of the country through 'MTB-Gunoboti' of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd under the foundation's credit wholesaling programme.
Around Tk 57.5 million loans have been disbursed among 112 women entrepreneurs in first and second phases of this programme since its inception in 2010.
Most of the women entrepreneurs are from outside Dhaka. Women entrepreneurs of productive and service sector can take this loan from branches of Mutual Trust Bank for current capital, purchasing equipment and development of technologies for business expansion.
