Thursday, 3 April 2014

Australia were 92 for 4 wickets in 15 overs against West Indies in the first semi-final of ICC Women’s World T20 in Dhaka on Thursday. Earlier, Australia Women's captain Meg Lanning won the toss and opted to bat first. Australia made one change to the squad that thrashed Pakistan by 94 runs, bringing in seamer Julie Hunter in place of Holly Ferling, who has managed a solitary wicket in the tournament. Australia also suggested a change in the batting order, opting for Jess Jonassen as an opener along with Elyse Villani, while pushing Alyssa Healy down the order. For West Indies, who were knocked out of the previous two ICC tournaments by Australia, Merissa Aguilleira was back in the squad after missing the previous match due to a hamstring injury, while Shaquana Quintyne replaced Chinelle Henry. Kyshona Knight also missed out, according to a news agency.
