Women’s T20: BD score 106 for 7 against Ireland

Bangladesh Eves Team scored 106 runs for 7 in stipulated 20 overs against Ireland Women’s Team in the 9th place deciding play-off match of the ICC World Women’s Twenty20 at the Sylhet Stadium on Thursday. Earlier, Bangladesh opted to bat first after winning the toss and made a cautious start scoring 24 runs in the opening stand in 5.4 overs. Opener Sharmin Akhter contributed 35 runs off 46 balls with three fours, another opener Ayasha Rahman made 19-ball 12 with two fours while number five Rumana Ahmed scored 14-ball 16 runs including three fours. They were also the ones reaching the double figures. Lucy O Reilly made the major damage to the Bangladesh innings grabbing three wickets for 15 runs in her four overs spell while captain Isobel Joyce and Louise McCarthy took two wickets each conceding 17 and 19 runs respectively in their four-over spell. Bangladesh Eves team earned their first victory in their maiden ICC World Women’s Twenty20 beating Sri Lankan by three runs in their last Group B match in Sylhet Stadium, according to a news agency.
