Work for better performance on the night of the Shab-e-Qadr

Wednesday, 16 September 2009

The following should be performed better on the night of 'Shab-e-Qadr' (a night better than thousands of nights):
-- Taking bath in the evening with a view to performing prayers (if possible).
-- Saying 'Laa-hawla wala kuata illa billah' 40 times during sunset.
-- Reciting the following suras: Ad-Dukhan, Ya-Sin and Al-Qadr.
-- Reading the Holy Quran and 'Durud-e-Taj' as much as one can. Remembering Allah and performing the Holy Milad for our greatest and dearest Rasul, with Qeeam and Salam.
-- Saying 'Nafal' (additional) prayer at least 12 'rak'ats' with six 'salams'. Praying to Allah for fulfilling good wishes, forgiving sins, boosting age, eliminating dangers in life, as well as for increasing incomes.
-- It is good for one to frequently read the following duah:
''Allahumma innaka afubbun tuhibbul afwa fafu anni.''
-- Offering 'ziarat' (visit) at the 'mazars' (shrines) and 'kabors' (graves).
-- Above all, it is better for one to help the orphan, the poor and the helpless according to one's ability.
