Work jointly to fight terrorism: PM

Saturday, 26 April 2014

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon SAARC member nations to work together to fight terrorism, trafficking of women and children and arms smuggling. She came up with this observation when cabinet secretaries of the SAARC countries called on her on Saturday ahead of a two-day meeting, her special aide Mahbubul Hoque Shakil said. Hasina laid emphasis on concerted effort to address these issues, Shakil said. The prime minister wished success for the meeting of cabinet secretaries. Hasina told the cabinet secretaries that it was the responsibility of bureaucrats to execute the decisions of politicians, the special aide said. She hoped the cabinet secretaries would work sincerely to implement decisions of SAARC leaders, he said. Cabinet secretaries of eight SAARC countries are now in Dhaka to attend the meeting on Saturday-Sunday (April 26-27), according to bdnews24.com.
