Work on Raghabpur-Telian road begins in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, July 22 (BSS): Construction work of 1.76 km long Raghabpur-Telian road under Shaghata upazila in the district began on Monday amid much enthusiasm.
Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) would implement the work at a cost of Taka 7.2 million under Rangpur Division Infrastructural Development Project, office sources said.
Deputy speaker of the Jatiya Sangshad Advocate Fazley Rabbi Miah formally inaugurated the work in Kalpani Mondalpara area of the upazila at noon as the chief guest through unveiling a plaque.
The chief guest said the present government had taken up initiatives for overall development on road sector to ensure good communication system.
Many roads, bridges and culverts had already been constructed in the upazila during the regime of the immediate past government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he added.
Executive Engineer of LGED Belal Hossain, UNO Abdul Awal, upazila engineer Sabiul Islam, political leaders, public representatives and local elite including journalists were present on the occasion. It is expected that the work would be completed by June, 2015, the LGED sources said.
