Work sincerely to make Biman profitable

Thursday, 27 March 2014

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday asked the officials and employees of Biman Bangladesh Airlines to improve its passenger services through skilled leadership and sincerity and thus make the national flag carrier profitable, saying no organization can survive with continued losses. “If it (continues to) incur losses, then many of its officials and employees may have to lose their jobs… you’ll have to render your services and work properly so that Biman could become a profitable organization,” Hasina said at a function at the VVIP lounge of the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. “The ‘Raanga Pravat’ will bring a truly bright morning for the people of Bangladesh,” she said. The function marked the induction of the 4th 777-300 ER aircraft (Raanga Pravat) in the Biman fleet. The four Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft commonly known as the ‘Queen of the Sky’ are now the backbone of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has named all the four new generation aircraft as Palki, Arun Alo, Akash Prodeep, and the latest one as Raanga Pravat. Each of the Boeing 777-300ER has seating capacity of 419 including 35 executive seats with most modern facilities, according to UNB.
