Thursday, 3 April 2014
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hasan Mahmud Khondker on Thursday urged the police forces of Saarc countries to work together in a bid to control transnational crimes. “The member states of Saarc have to face same types of crimes like terrorism, cyber crime, money laundering, human trafficking and drug smugglings for its geographical location,” the IGP said while addressing the concluding session and certificate distribution ceremony of a training course on “Transnational Crime: Saarc Perspective” at the International Conference Centre of Mirpur Police Staff College. Eighteen police officers equivalent to Superintendent of Police (SP) from India, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Bangladesh participated in the three-week long training course, according to a news agency.
