Work to reduce climate change impacts

Dhaka University (DU) Vice-chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Sunday urged the students of Botany to work together to mitigate negative impacts of global climate change. He made the call while addressing as the chief guest the freshers’ reception and graduation ceremony of the Department of Botany of DU at the department auditorium. Chairman of the department Prof Dr Moniruzzaman Khondker presided over the function while Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmad, Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain and Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof Dr M Imdadul Hoque spoke. The DU VC said botany is an inseparable part of nature. Students of Botany have to play important roles in introducing natural diversity of the world to common people, according to a news agency.
