Workshop on \\\'active citizens youth leadership\\\' ends

A four-day workshop on "Active citizens' youth leadership training" concluded on the Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Wednesday.
Organised by Youth Ending Hunger, Bangladesh of JU unit, a total of 40 JU students participated in the training.
Professor Dr Monzurul Haque, Dean of the JU Law and Justice Faculty, inaugurated the function in association with the British Council and the Hunger Project on November 16 at the JU Zahir Raihan Auditorium amid festivity.
Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, country director and global vice president of Hunger Project Bangladesh, and Brezed Barry, global officer of Hunger Project, attended the four- day workshop as chief guest and special guest respectively.
Dr Majumdar said, "We decided to start a last generation action. The action is to make the hunger, poverty, injustice and inequity a history. We are the last generation who are facing the obstacles, but our next generation will not experience these."
''In partnership with other like-minded organisations, we will eradicate hunger, poverty, injustice and inequity from the society creating a hunger -free Bangladesh. The youths should be positive minded, active and honest," he added.
Later, a certificate was given each of the trainees and a debate competition was also held at the same venue.
Adviser of the organisation of JU unit Dr A K M Shanawaz, Murshikul Islam Shimul, Regional Coordinator of Hunger Project, Dr Nurul Islam of JU Geography and Environment, among others, attended the function.
