Workshop on CSR Engineers, Manufacturers held

The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), GIZ and Reed Consulting (BD) Limited jointly organised a training workshop on CSR Engineers and Manufacturers in the city Thursday, said a press release.
The workshop stressed on the issues like CSR aiding, factory efficiency, save energy, reduce cost and protect environment, effective usage and handling chemicals and how to increase factory efficiency.
Chairman and Managing Director of Reed Consulting (BD) Ltd. Rodney J Reed presented the keynote paper on CSR in Bangladesh at the workshop.
In his keynote speech, Rodney J Reed said that CSR could be ensured in and outside of the factory.
He said that the price of our energy resources like gas, coal and oil will increase in future so through an effective usage of these natural resources we can contribute for reduction of the misuse, reduce price and ensure efficient management.
The workshop also emphasised energy auditing, effective use of chemicals and skill development through systematic change.
About 32 participants working in different university, NGO, pharmaceuticals, project, RMG sector, and mentors took part in the workshop.
Senior Adviser of GIZ Afsar Uddin Ahmed, Engineer Consultants of Reed Consultant (BD) Ltd. M Jainal Abedin, M Masum Jujuly and HR Consultant Sumaiya Islam were also present at the workshop.
DCCI Additional Secretary (R&P) Ferdaus Ara Begum moderated the workshop. Later participants were awarded certificates.
